UNDERSTANDING ANXIETY

Anxiety is more than just occasional worry or nervousness; it is a complex emotional response. This response triggers physiological reactions in the body, such as increased heart rate, shallow breathing, and muscle tension. Sometimes this response can be good, and even help you prepare for challenges. But when this anxiety response becomes chronic, these reactions can disrupt daily life and lead to significant distress.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY?

Anxiety may impact you if you experience any combination of these common symptoms:

  • Excessive worry and rumination.
  • Restlessness or feeling on edge.
  • Muscle tension and physical discomfort.
  • Difficulty concentrating.
  • Irritability.
  • Sleep disturbances.
  • Avoidance of anxiety-inducing situations.
  • Panic attacks (sudden and intense episodes of fear, along with physical symptoms such as shortness of breath and chest pain. These episodes can be emotionally traumatizing.)
  • Low Self-Esteem

ANXIETY CAN MANIFEST IN A WHOLE BUNCH OF WAYS, INCLUDING:
