Yuki is a Counseling Psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. She received her BS in psychology with a concentration in human health care and delivery from Roanoke College and then both her M.A. and Ed. M. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University’s Teachers College. In 2022, Yuki completed her PhD at Fordham University in Counseling Psychology to further deepen her clinical skills and pursue research that promotes ethnic minority mental health and social justice and advocacy within the mental health field. Yuki has a wide range of experiences from providing clinical services in schools, community clinics and agencies, and hospitals.
Her clinical work stems from a psychodynamic relational model for conceptualizing symptoms and problems that are impacting people’s lives. Additionally, Yuki utilities the benefits of evidence-based practices (EBP) like CBT and DBT to promote skill development for symptom reduction. Yuki aims to highlight in her therapy work the relational and cultural dynamics that all people are navigating as well as independent skill development to learn how one can self-soothe, cope, and advocate. With this, Yuki utilizes a multicultural lens when approaching all clients to better understand and promote the importance of context and environment in the experience of all symptoms.
